(Assuming everyone does get out of this place alive, I doubt we'll have to go back thro all of the traps once more to do so. I'm sure there will be an exit in the end. So it's now or never)

Legolas: "We should examine the door for traps sir"
Look for holes on the door to peek thro. bang on the door with the staff. break the door even if it's unlocked.
(no, jk, don't do the last part. btw, did the green goo-ey stuff disappear from that little island or is it still there? [the material that consumed our guinea-pig] cuz if it is, we could really use it).

The two soldiers investigate the door. It is a large bronze door with a wheel as an opening mechanism, similar to the ones you've seen earlier. the door doesn't respond to your probings.

(Admin said the door didn't respond to the "probing"; I interpreted that to mean the investigation. So I asked the Captain to try to open the door, meaning turning the wheel.)

The captain spins the wheel on the door and it opens outward on impossibly well oiled hinges. It opens out into a hallway which extends forward ten feet before splitting right and left in a T-shaped junction. As the captain steps outside the room, Edward can feel the sudden dissolution of some of the magic which pervades the treasure room. The magic that has been clouding your minds peels back and you suddenly realize that all three of you are desperately thirsty. Your lips are parched and cracking. Every raspy breath you take further aggravates your desert dry throat. You need water NOW! Suddenly from around the corner to your right you here the melodious tinkling of a fountain. (Edward please roll Resolve + Composure).

With great difficulty, Edward is able to stop himself from rushing blindly down the passage after the sound of water. The archer and the captain show no such self control. Both sprint as fast as their legs will carry them down the hall towards the fountain around the corner. You get back to your feet and stumble forward, planning on taking a drink of the water yourself however as you are about to turn the corner, you hear horrible gurgled screams of pain. Running the last few steps and rounding the corner, you see a short 5 ft hallway that opens to an almost featureless square room, the center of which contains a fountain through which flows crystal clear water. It's all you can do to tear your eyes away from the fountain to examine the rest of the room, but as you do, you notice your comrades writhing in agony on the floor. Their hands and faces are marred with hideous burns. (click the bar for an image of the rooms)

I rush to my comrades immediately and grab them both. I drag them backwards as fast as possible toward the door we came in.

The captain sputters something, however, you can't understand him for the inside of is mouth is burned as badly as his face. Legolas turns to the side and vomits up a distressingly large amount of blood.

I prop Legolas up and grab the captain. I put the captain over my shoulder and leave the room as fast as possible. I get back to the book room and lay him down inside near the door. I then run back to Legolas and do the same with him.

You lay the two soldiers against the wall in the Treasure Room. As you sit yourself in front of them to decide what you should do, you can feel the sapping magic of the room (the same Life and Matter magic that was hidden by the Mind magic that broke as you exited the room earlier) begin to sap the remaining water from your bodies.

Captain: (To Edward in sign language) "You're a bastard."
Legolas rinses his mouth and then drinks the actual water from his canteen of water.

(Let's use some of the herbal disinfectants, bandages, and strips of cloth to patch these guys up)

As legolas goes to drink from the canteen he rinds that the same spell that was sucking the water from their bodies (and it still is) has also sucked all the water from the canteen. (i would highly advise leaving the treasure room before you guys end up as mummified additions to it)

"Well," I mutter, "the Captain seems to be doing better, since he's able to remember his lessons from the sign-language classes." "Let's get out of here!" I get Legolas up and we run towards the door we originally came in.

(go look at the map i posted up a few posts ago, which door are you leaving through, the door to the corridor to the north or the trap door to the large lake with the slime island below? oh and dads right, the captain doesn't know sign language seeing as it hasn't been invented yet. please try to stay serious and in character. jokes may be made in paranthetical comments like this one)

We realize that where we originally came in won't help us. We run back to the north door, and up to the hall leading to the fountain room. We look both ways and head down the hall to the west, away from the fountain room.

As you leave the treasure room, you can feel the weight of the desiccation spell lifting(you are still mind numbingly thirsty, you just aren't getting any thirstier. Oh and your all consuming thirst causes a -3 penalty to all rolls). You head through the door down the hall (which is luckily un-trapped. you didn't stop to check because you failed a secret roll i made btw) you enter a room which is fairly small. In the center of the room is a strange black granite stone coffin. At the four corners of the coffin lid are spheres carved of black marble. Above the coffin is a large wooden fan which circulates the air in the room, blowing it straight down at the coffin. The fan does not seem to be visibly connected to any mechanical mechanisms for power. It must be powered by magic. There is a set of double doors with three holes in each door on the northern side of the room.

The three of us do a careful investigation of the room, including a search for magic.
